We have a passion for upholstered furniture, an eye for design, and the knowledge and skills to expertly restore, or transform a dated piece, with the fabric, finishes, or modifications. Changing the fabric alone offers a monumental change in an upholstered piece, but did you know that a frilly dated couch, can be transformed into a modern or even classic styled piece? Cushion styles can be changed, skirts removed, new legs installed, buttons added or removed. See our portfolio page.
Carriage House carries many beautiful lines of quality upholstery and drapery fabrics. And we offer in home design consultation. Christina comes to your home with plenty of fabrics to choose from, which are pulled based on your design and preferences. We work with you to achieve the best result in regard to style and design. Restoring and reupholstery offers the consumer a custom product of quality and value, while keeping the business local.
Carriage House continues to take restoration commisions for antiques and other fine furniture. We apply both skill and artistry to every restoration, and through the process utilize the best products and materials for each piece. Most furniture can be repaired, restored, or refinished to new or even better. We have many photo albums on our facebook page that showcase our wood restoration. We will add some here soon.
Buying formerly owned, older quality furniture is a pretty great deal. There are plenty of ways to source out that perfect piece, and at Carriage House we know a lot of hidden spots. We are efficient at finding just what people are looking for.
If the piece requires restoration, or restyling, rest assured that this often amounts to less than buying a comparable, new, and the end product is most often better.
We also accompany clients to look at quality older items, to inspect and quote for repairs or restorations, as well, help negotiate the sale and pick up.
Carriage House continues to take commissions for custom furniture design. With Christina’s education, skills, experience, and with a passion for design and a great eye for furniture, she meets with her clients to initially brainstorm about the design and functional needs, comes up with inspirational ideas and a drafted concept, then takes the project to completion through the manufacturing and custom finishing process. And of course, we handle delivery and any installation that may be required.
We offer education and consulting on training for the furniture restoration industry, and similarly to the retail consumer by guidance or tutoring on DYI projects. We also can advise on new furniture purchases, to ensure you know what you are investing in is worthy the expenditure, because they sure don't make furniture like they used to.
Also helping clients when downsizing to advise on what is in need of repair, or the value and design considerations of what to keep for best form and function. Comprehensive Insurance Reports are also available.
